Wetlands Delineation
Baseline Ecological Evaluations
AES performs Baseline Ecological Evaluations as required by the NJDEP in order to identify Environmentally Sensitive Natural Resources (ESNRs) including wetlands, streams, and water bodies that have the potential to be impacted by onsite contaminants of concern. In order to trigger an Ecological Assessment, onsite contaminants must be above the ecological screening levels, there must be an ESNR, and a pathway. If any one of the three (3) criteria are not met, an Ecological Assessment is not required.
Ecological Assessments
Ecological Assessments are a sampling event used to determine if an Environmentally Sensitive Natural Resource (ESNR) has been impacted by an onsite release. Investigations that AES may use include:
- Surface water sampling
- Sediment sampling
- Wetlands sampling
The results of Ecological Assessment will determine the need for additional investigations or remediation of a natural resource.
